Future update of REACH and CLP regulations: what is going on?

Since October 2020 the European Commission started to work on the update of regulation on chemicals in the scope of the EU’s zero pollution ambition, which is a key commitment of the European Green Deal.

Among the 5 main strands of actions for 2021-2024 there is a proposal to update the REACH and CLP regulations. The update of these two pillars of the regulation on chemicals in Europe could have potentially strong impacts on a number of area linked to these regulations in a direct way (industrial chemicals) or indirectly (e.g. biocidal and plant protection products).

The Commission launched public consultation on REACH revision - now available in all EU languages (public consultation will close the 15th April 2022)
