Guidance update and 2018 timelines

The guide providing information on requesting to consider harmonising maximum residue limits (MRLs) in Schedule 20 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code with limits established by Codex or the country/region in which the food commodity was produced to import into Australia has been recently updated (Guide to submitting requests for maximum residue limit (MRL) harmonisation proposals and the harmonisation request template).

 

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) announced that the call for the 2018 MRL harmonisation proposal requests (Australia) is now open (FSANZ). Requests need to be submitted to MRL.Contact@foodstandards.gov.au by Wednesday 6 June 2018, 6 pm (Canberra time). The updated information mentioned above should be considered when submitting your requests for 2018.
