THAILAND - Draft on Criteria for Hazard Properties for the Hazardous Substances subject to Annex 5.6 published

The Department of Industrial Works (DIW) of Thailand published the latest draft Notification of Ministry of Industry (MOI) Re: Criteria for the Consideration of Hazard Properties under the Annex 5.6 of the List of Hazardous Substances under Responsibility of Department of Industrial Works B.E. XXXX.

The new draft provides details on the criteria of each GHS hazard property. This hazard classification of a substance or mixture is based on the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labeling (GHS) of Chemicals at least equivalent to the hazard classification criteria attached to the Notification of Ministry of Industry Re: Hazard Classification and Communication System of Hazardous Substances B.E. 2555.

For electronic comments, please send an email with the subject “Public Hearing” or submit it via the following online form: http://php.diw.go.th/rubfung/voteform.php?id=149. A submission on initial responses is due by 25 March 2022.

Once approved, the regulation will come into force ninety days from the date of its publication on the Government Gazette.
