On 8 February 2019 the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published a step-by-step document on their website on “How to transfer your UK REACH registrations prior to the UK withdrawal from the EU”.

As a registrant based in the UK, your REACH registrations and notifications will be void after the UK’s withdrawal from the EU on 29 March 2019 at 24:00 hours CET (11 p.m. UK time). This document explains how registrations can be transferred to an EU-27 based company that will manufacture or import the substances into the EU after the UK’s withdrawal, or an only representative.

For this purpose ECHA will, among other actions, set up a time window from 12 March to 29 March 2019, to be used for these transfers in REACH-IT. Also, ECHA advises not to start dossier updates before the 29 March 2019, as “pending” dossiers cannot be transferred.

ECHA also published a short video on the topic. If you desire or require assistance with your registrations, our experienced team of regulatory specialists is glad to support you.
