REACH - New Entries on the Candidate List

Are your products affected?

In January, ECHA has added 7 new substances of very high concern (SVHC) to the Candidate List. Substances on this list are candidates for the authorization process under REACH, whose long-term goal is to replace these substances by using less harmful alternatives. In addition, the entry of Bisphenol A has been updated to reflect its endocrine disrupting properties causing adverse effects to the environment.

There are several legal obligations for suppliers resulting from the inclusion of a substance in the Candidate List. These obligations do not only apply to the listed substance itself, but also to mixtures and articles that contain the listed substance. That includes communication obligations down the supply chain towards customers and consumers, or even the need to notify to ECHA within 6 months.

To ensure compliance for your products, it is strongly recommended to check whether you are affected by these obligations.
