Public consultation regarding the possible restriction of hazardous substances (CMR 1A and 1B) in textile articles and clothing for consumer use

9 November, 2015

The European Commission wants to initiate a simplified process to restrict the use of CMR 1A and 1B substances in textile articles and clothing for consumer use. According to article 68 of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, paragraph 2 some of the formal procedural steps can be omitted (articles 69 to 73). There is no requirement for the preparation of an Annex XV dossier to initiate the restriction process, no public consultations are requested, opinions of RAC and SEAC are not required and there is no need to consult with the Forum for Exchange of Information on Enforcement.

The Commission invites every interested citizen and party to participate in the consultation until the 22nd of January 2016.
