Japan - How to add new substances to the positive lists for plastic utensils, containers and packaging

On 29 May 2020, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) published (Japanese only) the procedure to add new substances to the recently established Japanese positive lists for plastic utensils, containers and packaging.

Since 1 June 2020, an application including a risk assessment has to be submitted to MHLW in order to get a new substance listed on the positive list.
