Hazardous substances in consumer products - Enforcement projects throughout Europe

The European Chemicals Agency ECHA has published information on the enforcement project concerning the check of consumer products for hazardous chemicals. Inspections are ongoing for an enforcement project targeting REACH and CLP obligations for imported products.

The project is performed by the enforcement authorities in cooperation with customs authorities. The pilot project will run until autumn, 16 member states participate and the checks focus on whether imported products comply with restrictions under REACH and products are labelled with the required safety information.
